Project 1 update 2

There were quite a lot of ways and options for me to use the story as a base for a video. Since I don't have the bird with me I thought of making a paper bird. But in order for it to fly I wanted to make it stop motion, with each frame roughly half a second. As of the story, the main theme is definitely the theme of freedom, with the bird wanting to go out and look at the world. This reminded me of the book, "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." The story could revolve around 2 patients with uncurbable diseases. They talk to each other about how one day they will be out of the hospital and explore the real world. But one of them died without fulfilling his dream. The other built a paper bird in memory of him and the bird came to life. Flying out of the house and in to the sky. Representing how he wants to be able be free from his illness. The bird lands on a branch, and another bird flies over, lands right beside him, with the red scarf that his dead friend always wore.

Another way to approach the story is about letting go. The protagonist's bird flew out one day by accident. He misses him so much that he builds another bird that's a blue one and makes a wish for her to come back. He waited for a while but nothing happened. He's disappointed but expected nothing to happen. He goes to sleep, the next day something happens to make the paper bird come to life (not sure what) He sees the bird too on the edge of the door frame, the exact place where his old bird was at. He too flies out. the protagonists chases out and sees his old bird right beside his new one, happy. and he knows its time to let go.
